Freddy Aguilar’s legal wife, Jov Albao—more popularly known as Asa Dela Aguilar—cried after reading the contents of her late husband’s Last Will and Testament.

After the death of singer-songwriter Freddy Aguilar, netizens began wondering who would inherit the wealth and properties left behind by the iconic musician.

Who are the rightful heirs?

It’s no secret that in Freddy Aguilar’s more than four decades in the industry, he not only left behind a legacy of talent and music but also amassed considerable wealth and assets. These came from his hit songs that resonated deeply with Filipinos and garnered numerous awards both locally and internationally. His success allowed him to acquire lands in the provinces and establish businesses in the city.

He also owned a collection of cars and continued to earn royalties from his songs, which are still widely loved by Filipinos. According to reports, Freddy Aguilar’s estimated net worth reached over $5 million, accumulated through his successful music career, live performances, concerts, and album sales.

All his wealth is to be distributed according to the terms outlined in his Last Will and Testament. It’s likely that his properties were designated to his children and wife. One of them is his legal spouse, Juv Gandula Albao—his wife in the eyes of the law—who holds full rights to inherit as Freddy Aguilar’s lawful partner.

Freddy Aguilar’s deep love for his wife is undeniable.

Jovi’s social media posts reveal happy memories with Freddy and how she lovingly played her role as the light of their home. These show how joyful Freddy’s life was with Jov, and how deeply Jov loved Freddy in return.

Through good times and bad, Jov Albao was always by Freddy Aguilar’s side. Even during his final moments, she never left him and cared for him to the best of her ability. They proved that true love knows no age.

So it’s no surprise that Jovi Albao has significant rights to whatever wealth and properties Freddy Aguilar left behind. But for Jovi, more than the material things, the most valuable gift Freddy left her was his unmatched love—a love she says she will never forget for the rest of her life.

Here are some of their joyful memories together:

“Surprise! You gave me money, and flowers too. I love you. Love you!”
“I just posted earlier on TikTok that you gave me money. I’m so lucky to have you as my husband. Thank you, Lord, I ended up with the right person.”
“You even brought me flowers. You’re so silly.”
“Thank you. Love you. Love you!”

They laughed together, took photos, cooked meals, and shared playful moments in the kitchen. Jov showed Freddy preparing dishes like pinakbet and chicken stew with cabbage and chili, showing how close and intimate their bond was in everyday life.

Even when Jov got busy managing their restaurant, she still found time to cook for Freddy or have her parents do it for him. Although he now had dietary restrictions, she made sure he ate healthy, balanced meals.

“I try to balance his food intake,” she explained. “He mostly eats fish, chicken, and vegetables now, and I make sure it’s healthy and delicious. I’m not a doctor, but I research everything I can for his health.”

Jov even made carrot soup to help with his blood pressure and explained how she balanced high-cholesterol foods like beef and shrimp with vegetables rich in potassium.

“He’s like a child,” she said fondly. “Whenever he buys something, he shows me each one proudly.”

She also shared their spontaneous family trip to Tagaytay. Although it was meant to be Freddy’s solo trip, he decided to bring the whole family along since it had been a while since they last went out together.

They left early, had breakfast at Petron SLEX, and ended up in Talisay, Batangas after missing the Sta. Rosa exit. Before heading to visit his cousin, Freddy stopped for coffee and had a long chat with an old friend, possibly Nanay Maria.

They eventually arrived at his cousin’s house, which Jov admired for its peaceful surroundings, beautiful plants, and variety of pets including dogs, fish, monkeys, and birds.

She ended the memory with a light-hearted comment:
“I almost brought some of the plants home. Just kidding.”
