Scandal Between Ivana Alawi and Albee Benitez Shakes Philippine Showbiz
Recently, the Philippine entertainment industry has been abuzz with controversy surrounding popular actress and YouTuber Ivana Alawi and film producer-politician Albee Benitez. The issue surfaced when Dominique “Nikki” Lopez-Benitez, Albee’s wife, filed a legal complaint citing a violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262).
In her complaint, Nikki accused Albee Benitez of psychological and economic abuse through extramarital affairs, including an alleged relationship with Ivana Alawi. She expressed feeling “completely betrayed” upon discovering that her husband admitted to fathering two illegitimate children and having a questionable connection with Ivana.
Albee Benitez, for his part, has denied the allegations, describing them as retaliatory, baseless, and intended to divert public attention. He also said that dragging Ivana into the matter was unnecessary and lacked factual basis.
Meanwhile, Ivana Alawi has yet to make an official statement regarding the controversy. However, she surprised the public by posting a short Instagram Story video of herself smiling in a car, though she made no mention of the ongoing issue.
Earlier, in February 2024, Albee Benitez publicly apologized to Ivana after photos of them at Tokyo airport were leaked and widely circulated on social media, sparking rumors about a personal relationship.
Javi Benitez, the son of Albee and Nikki and currently the mayor of Victorias City, urged the public to be kind, to stop spreading rumors, and expressed hope that his parents would resolve their conflict soon.
As of now, the case is still under legal investigation and no official conclusions have been reached.
