It turns out that the Divine Diva, Zsa Zsa Padilla, also faced a serious health battle over the past few years. This was reportedly the reason why her comeback concert—planned two years ago to celebrate her 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry—did not push through.

Zsa Zsa had to prioritize her health and undergo treatment for a medical condition she has had since birth. The singer was born with mega ureter—her left ureter was as large as a sausage, when it should normally be a thin, tubular structure. Her right ureter, however, is normal.

Because of this condition, she experienced recurring UTIs (urinary tract infections) and had to regularly take oral antibiotics. She was diagnosed with this condition at the age of 27, which led to her undergoing two types of surgery. She had an operation in 2007, after completing the movie ZsaZsa Zaturnnah, where her left ureter was corrected.

However, she developed an infection afterward, requiring more antibiotics. She also experienced reflux, and the function of her left kidney became lower than usual. Eventually, she decided to travel to the United States in January 2024, but doctors advised her not to undergo surgery just yet.

Upon returning to the Philippines, she heard from acquaintances who were receiving treatment in Singapore. This prompted her to inquire and eventually consult with doctors there about her condition. Zsa Zsa shared that she underwent a robotic operation in Singapore. She said the procedure was very high-tech, and to her surprise, she did not feel any pain and recovered quickly.

Now, she is fully ready to return to the stage for her 42nd anniversary concert. Her fans are excited for her comeback performance titled “SAS Through the Years,” which will be held on May 17 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Ayala Malls Circuit Grounds, Makati.
