Just recently, it was confirmed by some Star Magic executives and director Chad Leones that the movie “My Love Will Make You Disappear” starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino (KimPau) has officially broken the long-standing box office record held by Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards for their film “Hello, Love Again.”

This achievement is considered a major milestone not just for Kim and Paulo, but also for Star Magic, as it took nearly six months to finish filming the movie.

In an exclusive interview with entertainment journalist MJ Felipe, Kathryn Bernardo shared her thoughts and reaction to KimPau surpassing her and Alden’s record.

Kathryn expressed that she’s genuinely happy for the two, and especially proud of Star Magic. She emphasized that this is now the second film produced by the agency to reach 1 billion pesos in gross sales, and she’s glad to see both their talent groups achieving success. Kathryn also clarified that it’s all part of a healthy competition in the industry.

On the other hand, Kim Chiu herself admitted she still can’t believe the overwhelming success of their movie. She was even more thrilled to learn that the box office numbers continue to rise as the film is still showing in several countries across the Middle East. Kim said she’s now thinking of holding a special event to personally thank the fans who supported them.
