The showbiz world is currently abuzz with controversy surrounding actress Jessy Mendiola, after reports emerged claiming that Edu Manzano, father of Luis Manzano, allegedly took advantage of her.

Jessy Mendiola, now 32 years old, has a daughter with Luis named Isabella Rose, also known as Peanut, who is currently two years old. Meanwhile, Edu Manzano is 69 years old. According to ongoing rumors, many people had long noticed Edu’s alleged unusual interest in Jessy, even before the scandal broke.

It is said that the way Edu looked at Jessy was different — as if he had ill intentions. Netizens remarked that they wouldn’t be surprised if Edu became infatuated with her, considering Jessy’s goddess-like beauty that many men find irresistible. She’s also known to be very family-oriented, kind, and helpful to others — qualities that supposedly make her “complete,” despite already having a child with Luis. Many even say she still looks like a single lady, full of charm and grace.

However, in a recent interview segment on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Edu Manzano was asked directly if he had feelings for Jessy and — even worse — if it was true that he had done something inappropriate to her without the knowledge of his son, Luis Manzano.

According to Edu’s statement:

“Actually, Tito Boy, this is something I deeply regret — for having sinned as a man and as a father. I hope this becomes a lesson for all of us, because we are only human and we make mistakes. But in reality — yes, it’s true, Tito Boy. I did something wrong to Jessy. I know in my heart it was wrong, and I made a mistake because she is the wife of my own son, Luis. I gave in to temptation, but in the end, I am ready to take full responsibility and surrender myself to face the consequences of what I did to Jessy and to my son Luis. I’m very, very sorry for that, my son. I never intended to destroy your family. I did it out of stress and because I no longer recognized myself.”

Following this revelation, Jessy’s family decided to take action by requesting a DNA test and lab analysis involving both Jessy Mendiola and Edu Manzano to determine whether any semen traces were present, and to assess Jessy’s condition.
