Lotlot de Leon Shares Update on Tribute for the Upcoming Birthday of Her Late Mother, Superstar Nora Aunor

Lotlot de Leon has shared an update regarding a tribute event organized by a group in honor of her late mother, the one and only Superstar Nora Aunor, whose birthday is approaching. Nora Aunor passed away on April 16 and was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on April 22.

On her Facebook page, Lotlot posted earlier today about the tribute event titled “Pamanang Pelikula: Celebrating the Life and Works of Nora Aunor” held at the Metropolitan Theater. The event featured some of her mother’s iconic films, including Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos and the newly restored ‘Merika.

Lotlot wrote a heartfelt message of gratitude:

“Our deepest thanks to all the organizations that joined forces to make it possible for people to watch Mommy’s films again: FDCP, NCCA, Mga Hiyas ng Sining Pilipino, Metropolitan Theater, Sagip Pelikula, Philippine Film Archive, and Solar Pictures.

No words can express how truly grateful we are—my siblings and I. Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and watched today.

Thank you all for the continued love for Ma’am and for our family. Long live Philippine cinema. Long live the art of Nora Aunor.”

During the event itself, Lotlot spoke on stage alongside her sister Matet. She shared that it was the first time they were speaking publicly about their mother since her passing.

“This is probably the first time,” Lotlot said. She also expressed her thanks and noted that the memory of their mother, Nora Aunor, will never be forgotten by those who love her.

Though her message was brief, it was emotional and moving—earning applause from the audience.

Many also wondered whether John Rendez was present at the tribute. However, upon checking his Facebook profile, there were no posts related to the celebration or any indication that he attended the event for the Superstar’s upcoming birthday.

Meanwhile, netizens have begun sending their warm birthday greetings in advance for the beloved Nora Aunor.
