Jessy Mendiola broke down in tears over the final wish of her husband Luis Manzano before he passed away.

On May 25, 2025, the family of Luis Manzano sadly confirmed that he had passed away after a long battle with a serious illness.

According to an interview with his wife Jessy, she shared:
“Till now, everything that’s happening to my family, especially to Luis, hasn’t fully sunk in. Everything happened so fast and I never expected this. Maybe God had a reason for taking Luis from us so soon. Maybe He felt Luis had already fulfilled his mission on earth. But at this point, I just feel deep sorrow for our child, who has lost a father so early in life.”

Many of Luis’s supporters, friends, and fans expressed their shock and sent their condolences to the Santos and Manzano families. Among those who publicly shared their sympathy were his celebrity friends Alex Gonzaga and Billy Crawford, who were both deeply affected by the unexpected news.

Meanwhile, Jessy Mendiola and Luis’s mother, Vilma Santos-Recto, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the people who supported Luis until the very end. They said that the outpouring of love is a beautiful gift for Luis as he journeys to be with the Lord.

Jessy also revealed to the public the final message that Luis left for his family, relatives, friends, and supporters before he passed, due to the severity of his critical health condition that he could no longer endure. She shared that Luis chose not to prolong his suffering and asked to be brought back to the Philippines so he could spend his final moments with his family and their child, Peanut.

In the last week of his battle with his illness, many saluted Luis for his bravery. At only 44 years old, he showed incredible strength and courage. He even managed to write letters and keep a diary documenting his daily routine and reflections—especially his thoughts while battling the illness.

According to a source, Jessy kept this diary safe, as it is now one of the few treasured memories of her late husband. She intends to pass it on to their child Peanut as a keepsake from his father.

In Luis’s final letter to Jessy, to their child Peanut, and to his family and father, he wrote:

“I promise I will fight for my life and endure this pain for all of you. I know I’ve fallen short in many ways, and I hope you can forgive me in my final moments. You will all be my strength as I face this challenge. In the end, I’m ready to pass on the things I worked hard for—my belongings and awards—as a source of inspiration and remembrance for all of you.
I hope you will treasure them and continue the legacy I’ve started in the showbiz industry.
This is where it ends. I love you all. Until we meet again. Goodbye.”
