In her latest post, Matet de Leon fondly remembered her late mother, the Superstar Nora Aunor. The actress shared a bonding moment she had with her mother, along with her brother Ian, and recalled how their late mother, being a singer, used to have special requests for them — especially after she suffered from throat surgery, which affected her ability to sing.

In Matet’s post yesterday, she shared a memory from January 8, 2022. According to her:

“Back when we were kids, Mommy always made us sing. Kiko would call us to the music room, have us pick a song, and then she’d record it. She was so happy whenever we sang for her — even if we were out of tune.

It extended even to her grandchildren. I remember her watching Mishka sing using the Bluetooth speaker and microphone she gave. She was so happy. She even told us to look for her minus one (instrumental tracks) so Mishka could sing her songs. She said she wanted Mishka to take voice lessons to improve her singing.

These are just some of our memories with Mommy. We miss her every day.

P.S. Kuya, we were so good in this video.”

The video Matet referred to is available on her Facebook page, and full credit for it goes to her.

Several netizens commented on the post, which has already reached 4,100 likes, 101 comments, and 55 shares.

Here are a few of the comments:

“She shouldn’t have gone yet. She still had so many movies to make, so many awards to receive.
I’m sorry, Lord, I know it was Your will… but I wish she was still here.

It was so joyful to be around her. Why? Even now, I still feel so sad.

Please continue her legacy — your beautiful voices and acting talents.

We love you, Matet, and all your siblings.”

“Your mom has been my idol since 1977.

The first time I saw her in person was when the Superstar had a show in Baguio City in the 1980s. I was in college back then. I was starstruck — she was so beautiful in person and carried her gowns with such grace.

I’m mourning her loss with you.

Yes, Matet. Sending you a big hug. The loss of Mommy Bugay is so painful for us fans.

It’s hard to accept that she’s gone.

Love you, Matet.

I miss Nora Aunor — my favorite actress since high school until now.

It’s hard to move on.

It’s hard to accept that the Superstar of the Philippines, my kababayan, is no longer with us.

I miss you, Miss Nora Aunor.

She must have been a wonderful mother.

Stay strong, all of you siblings.”
