His career continued to flourish, appearing in so many films that they’re difficult to count—making him one of the most celebrated actors in Philippine entertainment history.

Ricky also excelled in theater, where he honed his acting skills. He showcased his directing talent through several episodes of ABS-CBN’s “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and GMA7’s “Magpakailanman.”

He was not one to flaunt wealth or chase luxury. Instead, he found joy in simple pleasures—spending time with his children, sharing meals with friends, and immersing himself in his craft. He was known for his humility, generosity, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met.

Colleagues often described him as a gentleman of the industry, someone who led by example and inspired others to give their best to every project. Financially, Ricky enjoyed the stability that came with a long and successful career in the entertainment industry. Although his exact net worth was never made public, his steady acting and directing work, along with endorsement deals and festival appearances, allowed him to provide comfortably for his family and support causes close to his heart.

He never boasted—instead, he chose to focus on the quality of his work and the well-being of his loved ones. In his final year, Ricky faced health challenges that he and his family chose to keep private. On May 1, 2025, Ricky Davao passed away at the age of 63.

The specific cause of death was not disclosed, but those close to him shared that he had bravely battled a chronic or terminal illness. His family asked for privacy and understanding, choosing to honor Ricky’s life and legacy rather than focus on the details of his passing.
