Joyce’s sibling, Rodrigo, speaks out after she burned her three children

Joyce Rodrigo, the mother who set her three children on fire, has siblings who are now speaking out. On Joyce’s Facebook account, her profile picture was seen to have been changed four days ago—allegedly by her husband, Kimwell. Joyce’s siblings are furious that her account is still being accessed even after her death.

In the comments section, her siblings Rodrigo and Jen voiced their anger. Rodrigo wrote, “Stop using my sister’s account.” He added, “Before you judge her, watch all her videos and vlogs to understand how deeply she loved and cared for her children. All of you are so quick to judge.”

Another sibling wrote, “Goodbye, my sister and nephews. Wherever you are, you will always be in our hearts and minds. All these painful words and hateful comments will eventually end. Let’s leave everything to God because only He knows the full truth.”

Some netizens also commented:

“This happened to your family because of you too. You knew she was sick, yet you still cheated. May God forgive me for saying this, but I hope you suffer for the rest of your life for what you’ve done. Your wife loved you. You know why she didn’t leave you any burdens? Because she took everything with her. Now all you’ll have to think about is how to rebuild a family.”

“It was you who triggered your wife. So don’t play the victim on social media as if you were a good father and husband. You have the nerve to post like that—for what? Sympathy? Because of the stress and depression you caused, your wife lost her mind and took the lives of your three children and her own. May your conscience haunt you forever.”

The horrifying news has sparked widespread discussion and debate about mental health. According to reports, the children were found burnt inside their home in Barangay San Vicente, Bulacan.

A neighbor recounted that the six-year-old son—before dying—said that it was their own mother who poured gasoline on them. The children were rushed to the hospital, but the youngest was dead on the spot. The other two and the mother, who allegedly committed the act, were also declared dead later.

Initial investigations confirmed that the mother set her children on fire and then herself, using paint thinner. Before the incident, she had gone to the barangay to file a report against her husband and her meddling mother-in-law, who allegedly caused conflict in their marriage. After filing the report, the tragic act took place.

According to the barangay captain of San Vicente, Potensyano Lorenzo, “She was angry with her mother-in-law.” Authorities recovered used paint cans and matchsticks at the scene. The husband, who works in Batangas, refused to give a statement and asked for privacy.

The tragedy quickly spread on social media. Some said the mother shouldn’t have involved the children. Others cautioned against quick judgment, saying she might have been going through something deep and painful.

Meanwhile, mental health advocates reminded the public that anyone experiencing emotional struggles should not hesitate to reach out—to specialists, authorities, or even trusted loved ones—before doing anything that could lead to regret.
