Veteran actress Sharon Cuneta recently turned to social media to share a heartfelt handwritten letter from her daughter, Kakie Pangilinan, which was addressed to mayors all over the Philippines. In the letter, Kakie made a sincere appeal for support for her father, Kiko Pangilinan, who is vying for a seat in the Senate in the upcoming elections.

Sharon praised her daughter’s gesture, noting in her caption that Kakie paused her academic obligations to craft the touching message. She wrote, “Our dearest Kakie paused from completing all her graduation requirements and wrote this heartfelt letter for all the Mayors in our country to ask for their help for her Daddy. We are so blessed with the most loving, supportive children who are as devoted to us as we are to them! Thank you, Baba. We love you so very much.”

In the letter, Kakie gave readers a glimpse into Kiko’s character, emphasizing his modesty and consistent dedication to public service. She shared anecdotes about her father’s simple lifestyle, including how he has used the same watch and wallet for years and wore one pair of Converse sneakers for over a decade until a family member bought him a new one.

Kakie also addressed the challenges her family has faced, such as being the target of negative campaigns and lacking the vast financial and political resources of others. She acknowledged, “We do not have the political machinery. We do not have a billion-peso budget to push for him as loudly as we ought to,” but stressed that Kiko has remained steadfast and committed to improving the nation’s agricultural sector.

Speaking not only as a daughter but also as a young Filipino citizen, Kakie expressed hope in the country’s capacity for kindness and growth. “I am reaching out to you as a young Filipino who still believes in our country’s fundamental kindness. Our potential for true strength and stability.
