Sharon Cuneta laughs off rumors that Kiko Pangilinan is hurting her
Actress Sharon Cuneta has strongly denied several rumors about the reasons for her visit to America, including the alleged assault of her husband, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

In a more than hour-long Instagram video on Saturday, where she was with Pangilinan, Cuneta denied that the senator had touched her and stressed that she left the Philippines safely.

“By the grace of God, since my childhood, I have never met, loved, or been with anyone who has hurt me. It may be in my heart but not physically, ever,” the actress admitted.

“My husband, that finger never touched me. That was my father’s command. The minute you are hurt, even if it’s a slap, leave it,” she added.

She laughed at another issue that Pangilinan allegedly hurt her because she had a boyfriend.

Sharon joked that she would still accept whether Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves was her new relationship or whether he was a member of NCT or Shinee.

But of all the issues thrown at Cuneta, she laughed the most at the story that she was allegedly pregnant.

“They forgot that I’m not 30 anymore. I’m sorry even though I’m cute, I’m 55. And Kiko and I don’t want it anymore, we’re okay with Miguel,” the actress said with a laugh.

Here, the actress admitted to having depression after her supposed role as part of the all-Filipino cast in Jo Koy’s Hollywood film didn’t go through. According to Sharon, she was supposed to surprise her fans because she was chosen to play one of the lead roles in the said international film that will be produced by the famous Steven Spielberg himself.

“My big surprise was I was coming to Hollywood to do my first Hollywood film, not for any platform, not for Netflix, but for cinematic release with premieres all over,” Cuneta said.

“Jo Koy was the one who hand-picked me to be in his movie. I had several Zoom meetings already with the casting directors.”

She said she was very happy to get one of the two big roles in the movie based on the comedian’s life/

The actress was scheduled to fly to America before heading straight to Canada for the shooting of the show. She also said that it was a big help that she is a legal resident of America so she was allowed to leave the country. Cuneta underwent an RT-PCR test, 3 days before her flight. According to her, she had a swab test at a laboratory on May 16, two days before her flight to America.

While waiting for the results on May 17, she had another virtual meeting with the film’s production team.

But after this, her assistant told her that she would not be able to leave the country because she allegedly tested positive for COVID-19.

“It was heart-wrenching, heartbreaking for me. I literally felt so soft that I melted,” Cuneta said.

Because of this, she was unable to fly for the shooting of the show. But what made her even sadder was when she found out that the results were “false positive.” According to her, after learning that she was positive for the coronavirus, she was tested again in seven other laboratories, all of which came back negative.

“Isn’t it heartbreaking? That’s why I was so depressed. It was false positive and seven trusted labs tested me negative,” the actress admitted.

“I lost a big opportunity that I will never get back. Even though Jo Koy and the director wanted me to still be there, they had no choice but to continue with the movie.”

Her role went to Tia Carrere, who is one of the voices in the show “Lilo and Stitch.”

Cuneta was very upset because of the events, especially since she knew it was an honor to be part of an All-Filipino project in Hollywood.

“It broke my heart. It really did because it was such an honor to be part of the very first all-Filipino production in Hollywood backed by a producer as big as Steven Spielberg,” the actress said.

This was also the reason why she insisted on going to America — to “mourn” the lost opportunity for her.

“I needed to go to America and just leave the country and also make myself productive so I licked my wounds here. It was such a nice surprise,” Sharon said.

At the moment, her manager is reportedly busy in the US looking for opportunities for her.

She said she is also having virtual meetings left and right for auditions for various projects.
