Ian de Leon reveals “bitter truth” why he did not show up at birthday party prepared by mom Nora Aunor

“We don’t like to live like this anymore. We don’t want to live a lie anymore.”

SHOCKING REVELATION: Ian de Leon reveals why he didn’t attend the birthday party organized by his mother, Nora Aunor — “She wanted someone to be there.”

For the first time, Ian de Leon opened up about his absence from the birthday celebration prepared by his mother, Nora Aunor, on Friday, December 11.

That date also marked Ian’s exact 45th birthday.

Ian is the only biological child of Nora and her former husband, Christopher de Leon.

In a livestream on Ian’s YouTube channel on the evening of Sunday, December 13, titled “The Bitter Truth,” he shared his feelings and the reason why he skipped the party his mother organized.

At the start of the livestream, Ian affirmed his deep love for his mother.

“But it’s just so painful now. I can’t stay silent any longer,” Ian continued.

Even though he’s in showbiz, Ian said that he and his family have always chosen to keep important events in their lives private, including family gatherings and celebrations.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Ian recounted how his Mommy Nora initially planned to throw him a birthday party.

“My mom called, and we were so happy because we hadn’t spoken in years.

“I was thrilled because we said ‘I love you’ and ‘I miss you’ to each other, and we talked for a while.

“She planned my birthday, something she hadn’t done in years.

“I think the last time it happened, I was still a kid. So for her to prepare something now — of course, don’t get me wrong — I was truly happy.

“I was overflowing with joy. All my problems, all the struggles my family was going through disappeared when my mom said she was planning something and that we’d see each other on my birthday. I was so excited.”

Ian also shared that Nora apologized to him for all her “shortcomings” and “mistakes,” and he, in turn, also asked for forgiveness.

According to Ian, every family has their struggles — it just so happens that they are public figures, so everyone finds out.

He added, “The sad part is, with even a slight deviation from people’s expectations, we’re instantly judged. My sister is bad, I’m bad, my whole family is bad.”

Ian was referring to his adopted sister, Lotlot de Leon.

He also mentioned his younger adopted siblings — Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth.

Ian stressed, “I’m not competing. I’m not doing this livestream to blame or destroy anyone.

“This is titled ‘The Bitter Truth’ because I just want to share what’s real.

“My family and I would rather live in truth, no matter how painful and hard to swallow, than to live a life where people think everything is fine, that everyone is happy — when deep inside, I’m haunted by all these thoughts and feelings.

“This time, it’s not about pleasing people. I’m not doing this to bring anyone down.

“I’m doing this because I want to reveal a little truth about our family.”

Ian then addressed his mother directly on camera.

“Mommy, we love you so much. I love you so deeply.

“I wouldn’t trade the world for you, you know that. All the sacrifices we’ve made our whole lives, all the things we’ve kept inside — it’s all because we love you.

“I love you, and I would give my life for you.”

Then came Ian’s emotional words that hinted at why he didn’t attend the party.

“I just don’t want certain people around us. I don’t want others seeing us hugging and being sweet just because we’re in front of the camera. I don’t want that, Ma.

“When we see each other, I want it to be just us.”

GOUT OR SOMETHING ELSE?

According to PEP Troika’s report on December 12 by writer Rodel Fernando, Ian allegedly missed the party due to a gout attack.

Nora reportedly began preparing early and even gave an interview before the 6 p.m. party at a restaurant.

Two hours before the party, Ian texted that he couldn’t make it because of his gout.

Ian’s brother Kenneth and his wife Sam did attend the celebration.

Since Ian didn’t show up, the event turned into an early holiday party with fans and friends whom Nora invited at the last minute.

THE BITTER TRUTH

At this point in the livestream, Ian broke down in tears as he revealed the “bitter truth.”

He said he was hurt after their phone call because the next day, his mother texted, “Son, can I vlog what we talked about?”

Ian explained, “We’ve had so many chances before to get together. On my birthday, we had that chance again. I told you, ‘Ma, you’ll be a grandmother. Ma, it’s your grandchild’s first birthday. It’s Jordan’s baptism, Ma.’

“I have to say this now because I can’t take it anymore. Maybe I’ll die if I don’t say it. It’s just too heavy.”

Ian said he no longer cared about bashers because he was just telling the truth.

He went on, “The truth in people’s lives — most of it is hidden, because it’s painful to hear, hard to accept.

“But on behalf of my siblings — especially Matet and Ate — I hope the bashers and haters who don’t understand realize that we don’t even know you. And yet you say all these things about us.”

He revisited the pain he felt from the phone call with Nora.

“That call really hurt, Ma. I didn’t show it, but oh my gosh — I thought that was it. The moment I’d been waiting for, hoping for.

“This has to end. This hypocrisy has to end. We don’t want to live like this anymore. We don’t want to live a lie.”

Ian admitted that his gout was just a convenient excuse.

“My birthday — even if I did have gout — I could have pushed through.

“The truth is, there was a message.

“Mommy, I love you so much, Ma. I respect you deeply.”

Ian also mentioned Rodel Fernando’s article, saying, “Please get the whole story before you write.”

THE TEXT MESSAGE

So what was the truth Ian was referring to?

He shared, “The night before, we exchanged messages… This is for those who truly know, those who love and understand.

“Mommy’s message — I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. I just want to be honest.

“She said, ‘Son, may I ask a favor? Please answer me honestly, from your heart. I’ll understand no matter what your answer is. I just want your birthday to be special.’

“Then she followed that with a message saying she wanted a certain person to be there.

“I replied, ‘Sorry, Ma. I don’t think we’ll feel comfortable.’

“And for those who truly know… you already know who that person is.”

Ian did not name the person, but it’s public knowledge that the Superstar’s children have a strained relationship with her long-time companion, singer-rapper John Rendez.

Before Nora lived in the U.S. for five years and returned in 2011, John was her constant companion.

Ian noted that he had previously mentioned forgiveness in past livestreams.

He said, “If God can forgive, then why can’t I?”

Continuing, “So now, I want to forgive.

“To those who know who I’m referring to — thank you for understanding. I don’t want to be in showbiz anymore.

“Ma, I know you’re watching. Let me say again — I love you so much. That will never change.”

He pleaded with his mother to allow their family to take care of her.

“Please, give your family a chance.

“You’ve lived for so long, Ma. Let us care for you, love you, and shower you with affection every day.

“Please, Ma, let go of the people around you.

“We’re your family. I’m begging you as your child, a child who loves you.”

Ian said that for his next birthday, he hopes Nora can drop her showbiz persona.

“My wish isn’t for an extravagant party or a cake. My wish, Ma, is for you to be Nora Cabaltera Villamayor — not Nora Aunor.

“I want your grandkids to experience the love you can share. I want us to be with you while we still have time.”

To his viewers, Ian clarified that his intention wasn’t to criticize or attack anyone but to disclose what’s going on in their family.

He explained, “All our lives, we’ve protected our mother, even without her knowing.

“We’re here, Ma. We’re more than willing to give our lives for you.

“We’ll help you do whatever you need in life — just give us the chance.”

Ian appreciated the gesture his mother made for his birthday, but as he said earlier, “If we’re going to see each other, let it just be us.”

He added, “You got hurt, I hurt you because I didn’t come. You prepared everything.

“Best effort, Ma — hands down. I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.”

He reiterated to the viewers that he loves his mother deeply and regrets not speaking up sooner.

“If only I could turn back time… I wish I hadn’t given in to fear and intrigue.

“I wish I hadn’t sat silently while everything unfolded before my eyes — for so many years.”

IAN’S CHRISTMAS WISH

Ian’s wish this Christmas is to have a heart-to-heart conversation with his mother.

“This Christmas, my only wish is for us to talk, Ma.

“Just the two of us — please. Even over the phone, as long as it’s intimate and sincere.

“That was your promise before my birthday, Ma. You told me, ‘Promise, anak, just us.’”

Ian said he never intended to speak out just for a vlog, but he felt he had to.

“Everyone has to know the truth. Everyone deserves to understand.”

He admitted he made mistakes too but asked people not to turn their family’s issues into a circus — even if they’re in showbiz.

Before ending his livestream, Ian left one more message for his mother.

“I love you, Ma. Please take care always. I’ll talk to you — just tell me when.

“I hope… I just hope we can talk, Ma, soon.

“I wish to see you. I miss you. I love you so much, and I’m sorry I couldn’t attend the celebration you prepared for me. I really do appreciate it.”

Ian even said he cried when he saw the birthday cake that read: “Happy Birthday, Ian! From Mommy.”

He continued, “So sweet. But I just couldn’t do it.

“Because on top of everything — my illness, everything — well, I’ve already said it. I don’t want to repeat it anymore.”

Finally, Ian said, “I don’t know where this will go, but this is the truth.”
