Many were surprised that his body was not embalmed, and was immediately buried while wrapped only in white cloth, in accordance with his personal beliefs and wishes.

According to Freddie Aguilar’s family, before he passed away, he had already expressed his desire to be buried immediately, simply and without a pompous ceremony. Ka Freddie’s wish was also based on his Islamic faith and respect for its traditions.

“Father Freddie’s wish was for a simple burial, no embalming, no coffin, and to be buried immediately in white cloth as a sign of his faith,” according to a relative.

The funeral was held just a few hours after his passing. The number of attendees was limited, only close family and friends, in accordance with tradition and the wishes of the late singer.

Family and relatives, not allowed to approach or touch Maegan Aguilar’s body
Singer Maegan Aguilar herself forbade her parents, siblings, and entire clan from approaching or even touching her remains when she passes away, according to her Facebook post on Friday, March 3.

It can be recalled that Maegan has been asking for help and negotiating with her father, OPM singer Ka Freddie Aguilar, but the latter has refused. He said that his son needs to change his ways and stop using illegal drugs first.

Maegan’s emotions were further heightened by Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s withdrawal of his promise to help her after she tested positive for drugs.

He said that she needs to rehabilitate and fix herself before helping her.

Netizens were also shocked by Maegan’s statement, which has reached the point where her relatives are not allowed to even look at or touch her body, in case she passes away.

“I am forbidding & removing all legal/illegal authority from my parents, siblings and the rest of my bloodline to go near & touch my corpse just to manipulate my situation to their fucked up advantage all over again,” he said.
