Matet de Leon burst into tears when she was given the chance to speak at the wake of her mother, the late Superstar Nora Aunor at the Heritage Park in Taguig.

In the video posted by film director Benny Andaya on Facebook on Tuesday, April 22, the actress made an emotional revelation about the mother-daughter relationship she had with the National Artist for Film and Broadcast.

The 41-year-old actress also admitted that she is now filled with regrets due to recent passing of the icon who raised her.

I’m still full of regrets,” she said.

Matet only hopes that her mother felt her presence during her last hours.

The actress also extended her gratitude to the people who expressed their sympathies and love for the late icon: “Salamat po ulit sa inyong lahat. Thank you po.”

In an Instagram post on April 16,  Matet shared an old photo of herself with her mom with a short yet heartfelt caption: “I love you mommy.”

Several celebrities had expressed their sympathies, including Gabbi Garcia, Gladys Reyes, Andrea Brillantes, Claudine Barretto, Nikki Valdez, and Eula Valdes.

During the final night of Nora Aunor’s wake, celebrities and well-known personalities gathered to pay their last respects, including Rosanna Roces and Ai-Ai delas Alas.

A state necrological service was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines to honor her significant contributions in the entertainment industry.
