Manila, Philippines — The entertainment industry is still reeling from the shocking revelations surrounding the last will and testament of the Superstar, Nora Aunor — and no one was more stunned than rising star Janine Gutierrez.

In a stunning twist that has now gone viral across social media and media networks alike, sources close to the family claim that Janine was left completely speechless after learning what Nora had left her in the will.

A Bond Beyond Blood

Though not related by blood, Nora Aunor and Janine Gutierrez shared a profound and meaningful connection forged through their work, artistry, and mutual admiration. Nora had often expressed her admiration for Janine’s acting prowess and her fearless stance in choosing quality roles over mainstream fame.

“Janine reminded Nora of her younger self,” said a close family friend. “They both value craft over commercialism. That’s why Nora saw something special in her.”

The Will That Shocked Everyone

According to a trusted legal insider who was present during the initial reading of the will, Nora Aunor named Janine as one of her unexpected beneficiaries, leaving her a portion of a valuable property and several pieces of vintage jewelry with immense sentimental value.

“These weren’t just gifts,” the insider said. “These were Nora’s most personal possessions — things she held onto for decades. The message was clear: she saw Janine not just as a talent, but as a legacy-bearer.”

Sources say Janine was in tears, visibly shaking, and kept repeating: “I can’t believe this… I’m so honored.”

Family Members React

While some fans praised Nora for recognizing Janine’s potential and artistic integrity, rumors have begun swirling about possible tension within the Aunor family, especially among some children and adopted kin who were allegedly left with less than expected.

Social media erupted with mixed reactions:

“Janine deserves it! She’s one of the few serious actresses of this generation!”
“But why not leave it all to her family?”

The Aunor camp has so far remained tight-lipped about the complete contents of the will, and no formal statement has been released by Janine or her management.

Carrying the Torch

Janine Gutierrez, known for her fearless choices in indie films and primetime dramas, has often been seen as one of the brightest stars of her generation. With this surprise gesture from Nora Aunor, many now believe she has not only inherited memorabilia — but also the pressure of living up to an extraordinary legacy.

“Nora didn’t just pass on jewelry or land,” one industry veteran said. “She passed on the responsibility of artistry — and that may be heavier than anything else.”

Is this the passing of the torch from one generation to another? Or will this decision cause even deeper rifts in the already fragile dynamics within the Aunor family?

One thing is certain — the Superstar’s legacy lives on, and she made sure it’s in the hands of someone she believed in.

Janine Gutierrez says ‘superstar’ grandmom Nora Aunor ‘will be forever loved’

MANILA — Actress Janine Gutierrez mourned the death of her maternal grandmother Nora Aunor, the Philippine Cinema’s “Superstar”.

In a social media post, Gutierrez described Aunor as “a treasure to our family but truly always more the people’s than ours.”

“She had a life of giving her immeasurable love to everyone she touched whether on screen, through music, or in person,” Gutierrez said.

“We find comfort in knowing she, the one and only Superstar, will be forever loved,” she added.

The actress said her family was “deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support.” She also asked for prayers, especially for Aunor’s children.

Aunor has a biological son, Ian de Leon, with former husband  Christopher de Leon. They have four adopted children — Matet, Kiko, Kenneth and Lotlot, mother of Janine.

Just last Saturday, April 12, Janine’s paternal grandmother, “Asia’s Queen of Songs” Pilita Corrales passed away. She was 87.

According to Lotlot, Aunor’s public viewing will be held on April 19 and 20 at The Chapels at Heritage Park. Visiting dates have also been set for Aunor’s family and friends.

Aunor’s internment will be held on April 22 at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
