Groom’s Mother-in-law Laughs at Janitress, Until She Climbs the Stage to Congratulate the Couple

People often judge others without knowing the real story behind it. This is what happened to Maria, a mother who worked hard every day to give her son a bright future. One day, Maria proved that everything people thought about her was wrong.

Maria’s life has always been difficult. She grew up in poverty and no matter what she did, it always seemed like she was lacking. So she dedicated her entire life to supporting her son Aiden.

She works as a janitor for a cleaning company and often struggles with finances. She spends 12 hours at work just to make sure Aiden has food and a good life. When Aiden got older, she sent him to a good boarding school in town.

“Mom will work hard so you can go to college. I’ll take care of you, son,” Maria said as she sent Aiden off on the bus. She wrote to her son whenever she had the chance.

“‘Don’t worry, Mom. He knows where we come from, and he loves me for who I am. You’ll see,” Aiden replied. Their relationship remained strong until college.

When Maria met Linda, she immediately understood why her daughter loved her so much. Linda was kind and humble, and Maria did not judge her even though she was a janitor. When the two got engaged, Maria immediately gave her blessing.

To celebrate, Maria decided to organize an engagement party at a restaurant and there she would first meet Linda’s parents, Hugh and Elizabeth.

Later, Hugh and Elizabeth agreed and paid for the wedding. The ceremony was very lavish. Linda’s wedding gown was designer, a famous chef was hired as the caterer, and the guests were full of VIPs.

At first, Maria’s in-laws didn’t treat her well. When asked what she had completed, she answered honestly: “I didn’t finish school because my husband left us, and I raised Aiden alone.”

“If we hadn’t tried, we wouldn’t have been able to give all this to Linda,” Elizabeth replied coldly. To the guests, they seemed embarrassed to admit that Maria was the groom’s mother.

The part of the wedding came where the families would give messages. Hugh and Elizabeth were first and showed off their gifts – all the appliances and furniture of Aiden and Linda’s future home. The guests applauded. The in-laws were overjoyed.

But when Maria was next, everyone’s reaction was different. Some murmured, thinking that she might only be able to give a small amount.

Maria smiled and wiped away her tears. “I don’t care what others say. What matters is that my son and my new grandchildren are happy. But I just want to say something,” she said.

“Son, I’ve been saving up for your tuition my whole life, because I know that medical school is expensive. But the funny thing is, you got the scholarship. So what I saved up… now, I want to give it to you as a gift,” Maria took out an envelope.

When Aiden opened it, everyone was shocked – it was the key to a house that Maria had bought for the newlyweds.

Everyone applauded as Hugh and Elizabeth’s eyes widened. They apologized to Maria after the wedding.

“I’m sorry, Maria. We judged you and we were wrong. You’re such a good mother,” Elizabeth said.

“Remember, even if you come from nothing, you can be successful,” Maria replied.

After a few months, Aiden finished his medical school and became his mother-in-law’s partner in the clinic. Aiden insisted that Maria retire, and even gave her a new car as a thank you. Later, they had children and became a happy family, with Hugh and Elizabeth as grandparents.
