The passing of “Superstar” Nora Aunor not only left a great loss to the Philippine arts scene but also brought great pain to her family, especially her children. In her final days, Nora Aunor left behind a handwritten letter – a final message to her children – that brought tears to anyone who read it.
According to a person close to the family, the letter was written a few months before her death. It was carefully kept in an old box, along with photos of her youth and the rosary that she always carried with her during difficult times. In the letter, she did not talk about fame or career, but only about love, forgiveness, and family unity.
She wrote that when she was gone, what she wanted most was for her children to always love each other, forgive each other despite disagreements or misunderstandings. She did not want fame or old wounds to separate her children. Nora Aunor emphasized that blood is sacred and nothing can replace it.
In addition, she also asked her family not to hold a grand funeral. She only wanted to rest next to those who truly loved her, not because she was a famous artist, but because she was a mother, a simple woman who lived a life of love and loyalty.
On the last evening of the funeral, the atmosphere of mourning was everywhere. Her children such as Lotlot, Ian, Matet and Kenneth could not hold back their tears when reading each line of their mother’s letter aloud. Everyone present was moved to silence.
Fans also felt heartbroken to know that despite being loved by the whole country, the last thing Nora Aunor wanted was harmony in her family. That was the clearest proof of her deep feelings and humility.
Nora Aunor’s passing is a great loss, but the last words she left will live forever. It is not only a message to her children, but also a life lesson for all of us – about love, forgiveness and family. An icon has passed away, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of Filipinos.
Nora Aunor, has a last will! Died after surgery
“Son, please kiss my grandchildren. Hug them. Tell them that I love them.” This was the last will of the late Superstar and National Artist for Film Nora Aunor to her son Ian de Leon.
The one and only Superstar passed away last Wednesday, April 16, at the age of 71.
The actor shared in his interview with 24 Oras that before his mother was rushed to the hospital, they talked on chat and this was her last message to him.
“I said, ‘Mom, don’t talk like that. We’ll go out, we’ll celebrate your birthday, we’ll bond.’ That was our last chat, our conversation, and I told her how much I loved her, how much her grandchildren loved her, how much her grandchildren always looked for her every night, praying for her,” Ian said.
The actor also said that until the last moment, Ate Guy’s loved ones were there. “We were all there, watching over her, we really didn’t leave her by her side,” Ian said.
In the interview, the actor also said that his mother’s cause of death was acute respiratory failure.
It can be recalled that in a press conference last Thursday, Ian said that Ate Guy had a medical procedure but that was not the reason for her death.
“She was being operated on, and after that, she had a hard time breathing, and eventually, all things went downhill from there, and that’s why they had to do another procedure after that,” Ian said in a press conference.
Ate Guy’s remains are currently being laid to rest at The Heritage Park in Taguig. He will be accorded state necrological services and will be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on Tuesday, April 22.
Director Joel remembers the superstar who gave him a carabao
Director Joel Lamangan revealed that he is planning a biopic for Ate Guy.
In his Facebook post, the veteran director paid tribute to the only Superstar he worked with in six films (The Flor Contemplacion Story, Muling Umawit ang Puso, Bakit May Kahapon Pa?, Sidhi, Hustisya and Isa Pang Bahaghari).
According to director Joel, before the Superstar passed away, they were talking about making a bio flick for him.
“We were supposed to talk about an important movie that our friend Ricky Lee was going to write – the Nora Aunor Story, we talked to the producer, just waiting for the right time. Too bad Ate Guy is no longer here, but we will continue with it!” said director Joel.
The award-winning director also recalled Ate Guy’s kindness when he was still alive.
“Ate Guy was kind to all his colleagues. He didn’t want anyone to be oppressed or aggrieved, especially the crew who were only paid a small amount. On the last day of filming, he would definitely give everyone some financial help,” recalled director Joel.
“The workers were overjoyed by his generosity. After the shooting of Flor Contemplacion at the Sta. Cruz city jail in Sta. Cruz Laguna, he lined up the prisoners we were working with and gave them money,” the director said.
Director Joel will also never forget when they were shooting Sidhi and Ate Guy saw the farmer looking sad. The Superstar approached him and asked why he was sad.
The farmer said that his buffalo had died and he had nothing to buy. Ate Guy immediately gave him money to buy a new buffalo.
“The old man tearfully accepted the money and thanked him! Those are just a few of the good deeds I witnessed, how big his heart is for those in need!” said director Joel.
“Goodbye, ate Guy, you will remain in my God and in my heart! Until we meet again! LIVE!!!!” concluded the director.
