It is worth noting that Toni Gonzaga did not continue her role in the movie, Asian Persuasion. The actress was replaced by KC Concepcion who happily accepted it.

Meanwhile, many were surprised by KC Concepcion’s post on her Instagram account. According to her,

The filming is done, now the hard work begins. And YOU can help bring our movie to the FINISH LINE 😍

I said YES to this movie “Asian Persuasion” because I grew up not seeing a Filipino who looked like me, or other girls like me, on American TV or in Hollywood films.

Having the chance to be part of this Asian-American romantic comedy as a FILIPINA means MORE to me than just getting an acting job in America. I think I speak for so many ASIAN actors who grew up wishing and waiting for this time to come for us to be SEEN, HEARD, and REPRESENTED, in all our different skin tones, body shapes, and backgrounds.

This movie is about family, relationships, love, failures, resilience, success, and fighting for what you love. That’s why this story is YOURS, as much as it is mine.

This is US. Made by us. Made for us. And made to represent us.

In this sharing by KC, she asked for help because the said movie seemed to be stuck in budget.

Meanwhile, according to the news, the movie has received donations of $9,823 after KC Concepcion called to meet the post-production of the movie they made in New York.

Here is the opinion of Veteran Showbiz Columnist Lolit Solis regarding KC Concepcion’s said call.

KC Concepcion’s making a Hollywood movie, Salve, is really a big deal. It’s big news, especially now that it’s said that she’s a bit stuck in budget and KC Concepcion needs help to finish it. It’s like a desperate move to do just that. What is that, as if KC is going to come out and produce her own movie? It’s not good that this happens. If the project is really good and it’s really for KC, she doesn’t need to financially support the production. It’s hard enough, she should just be talented, be paid for her services as an artist, she shouldn’t have to spend money. KC doesn’t need to do showbiz if this career is really not for her. College graduate, has connections, other opportunities are easy for KC Concepcion. The world is not just showbiz, it’s wide open for a KC Concepcion.

Some ask what would have happened if Toni Gonzaga had accepted the role in the said movie?
