Marian Rivera Trends Again After a Shocking Revelation by Her Former High School Classmate

Prime time queen Marian Rivera is trending again—this time, not because of her showbiz projects, but due to a social media post from her former high school classmate, Ivy Manzon Bo, who revealed something that many people never knew about the actress.

According to Ivy, she was reminded of a past experience with Marian after watching a recent interview in which Marian said she had already forgiven the woman she had once had a fight with. As many know, Marian has had several misunderstandings in and out of showbiz because of her straightforward nature.

This prompted Ivy to recall a painful incident from their past: when Marian allegedly pulled her hair and poured soft drinks on her due to a baseless rumor fueled by jealousy. Ivy shared her experience through a Facebook post:

“I just saw this post in ‘Hampas Lupa Bodies 4.0’, so I thought I’d spill the tea and share my story. This happened around 1998—it was just a kid fight. I watched her interview and laughed when she said she had forgiven the women she once fought with over ‘issues with Dong’. So here’s my share.

We were in second year high school at St. Francis Academy in Bayanan. Marian poured soft drinks on me and pulled my hair over a false rumor. In the end, we both ended up in the guidance office and got suspended for a week. As punishment, we had to clean the cafeteria and were even kicked out of the varsity team. But I’ve forgiven you already, Marian Rivera Gracia. Haha.

She was very gullible with gossip. We were even seatmates since our surnames were next to each other. We were in the dance group and varsity together. Then one gossipy classmate said something bad about me to Marian—and she believed it. She came at me with soft drinks in a plastic bag. Our parents were called in too.”

The tension apparently did not stop in high school. Ivy claimed a similar confrontation happened again during their college years at DLSU-Dasmariñas. Marian allegedly confronted her in the classroom and again when they crossed paths in the building.

“I just said to myself, ‘This has been your issue since high school—still an issue now? Crazy.’ But we were kids back then. Like any other child, if you hear something bad about yourself, your first instinct is to fight. That was how it was back then. Everyone picked sides. But it’s been a long time, and we’re okay now.”

In fact, Ivy said they met again at GMA during Marian’s Marimar days and were friendly with each other. However, because of Ivy’s post, she received backlash from Marian’s fans, who accused her of clout-chasing and trying to gain attention.

Ivy defended herself:

“Say whatever you want. I honestly don’t care. I know Marian’s interview with Karen Davila happened a long time ago, and I’m not the type to follow showbiz news. I just saw the meme on Hampas Lupa Bodies and commented with my own story. Yes, our fight was a long time ago—high school days, to be exact—so I don’t think it affects who she is today.

Marian is Marian. And if I shared my story, it’s because it’s my story to tell. I have every right to speak my truth. It may be cringe-worthy, but it’s real. None of it is made up to ruin someone’s name.”

In other words, both Marian and Ivy have long moved on from the incident and now laugh about it. However, the post prompted netizens to revisit Marian’s past controversies involving fellow actresses.
