Jessie Menjola was overwhelmed with tears at the last touch of her husband, Luis Manzano, before he said his final goodbye. On May 25, 2025, the family of Luis Manzano experienced a heartbreaking farewell as he passed away after bravely fighting a serious illness.

According to Jessie, his girlfriend, in an interview, “Till now, everything that’s happening to my family hasn’t sunk in yet, especially about Luis. Actually, everything happened so fast and I didn’t expect it. Maybe God has a plan why He took Luis from us early, and maybe at this point, he has finished his mission on earth.”

“But at this point, I feel sorry for our child because he was orphaned by his father so early.” Despite this, many supporters and loved ones of Luis expressed their shock and sympathy to the Santos and Manzano families. Even his celebrity friends like Alex Gonzaga and Billy Crawford sent their condolences to the TV host and actor after his sudden farewell shocked the showbiz industry.

Meanwhile, Jessie Menjola and Luis’ mother, Vilma Santos Recto, expressed deep gratitude to everyone who continued to support Luis until his last moments. They said it was a great comfort for Luis because in his journey, he would be happy to be with the Lord.

Following this, Jessie Menjola also revealed to the public the final wishes of her husband to his family, relatives, friends, and supporters before he passed away due to his critical health condition which he could no longer bear. He chose not to prolong the suffering of his family and preferred to be brought home to the Philippines to spend his last moments with his family and their child, Peanot.

During Luis’ one-week battle with his illness, many admired the actor for showing strength and courage at the young age of 44. He was able to create and leave behind letters and a diary where he documented his daily routine and experiences, especially his fight against his illness.

According to sources, Jessie was asked to keep these safe because these would be the lasting memories of her husband and a legacy to pass on to Pinot while his father Luis was still alive. In Luis’ last letter to his wife Jessie, their child Pinot, his family, and his father, he wrote:

“I promise that I will fight my life and feelings for you. I know I have many shortcomings, and I hope you can forgive me in my final moments. You will be my strength in the challenges of my life. And in the end, I am ready to leave you some of my hard-earned belongings and awards as an inspiration and so you will remember me.
