ACTOR Derek Ramsay has revealed how his former relationship with Angelica Panganiban helped him in his acting career.

In his interview on “The B Side” with TV host Bianca Gonzalez, they once again looked back at the hit Kapamilya series “Maging Sino Ka Man” in which the actor was a part.

When Derek joined the said teleserye, he was just starting out in the showbiz industry.

He admitted that he felt pressure because Book 1 of the said series was so big and really enjoyed by the audience.

“I already felt the pressure, because when they announced it, they were honest to tell me, ‘Hey, it’s more pressure now because Book 1 was so big and introducing these characters, so I’m now on stage with other big stars too and I’m just starting my career,” Derek said.

He continued, “These guys have big names already and I just felt so much pressure working with all of them, and being in a project that already had so much success.”

Derek’s co-stars in the series were John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga.

He also said that his relationship with Angelica Panganiban during that time was a big help to his acting.

“It’s so much hard to do, ‘yung sequel, right? The pressure was pretty intense. But at the time, Angelica [Panganiban] was my girlfriend and she’s a talented actress, so she was able to help me,” Derek said.

The two were reportedly in a relationship in 2006 and after six years, they broke up. Derek and Angelica are now happy and have their own families.

It can be recalled that the actor married Ellen Adarna in November 2021 and it was only in 2024 that they welcomed their first child, Liana.

Meanwhile, Angelica got married in December 2023 in America to Gregg Homan. They also have another child, Amila Sabine, who was born in 2022.
