Markki Stroem Admits the Truth About His Relationships with Marvin Agustin and Piolo Pascual

Actor-singer-model Markki Stroem has finally broken his silence regarding the rumors linking him to fellow actors Marvin Agustin and Piolo Pascual.

On January 10, Markki guested on the TV5 radio program Cristy Ferminute, hosted by Cristy Fermin and Romel Chika, to promote his Cignal Play series Delivery Gurl.

Cristy asked him directly what he had to say about the past rumors claiming he was in a relationship with Marvin.

To recall, the issue began in 2020 when a photo circulated online showing Markki and Marvin in bed together, with Marvin leaning on him while asleep. Markki remained silent on the matter back then.

“Marvin is my friend, and he still is. And in my opinion, it’s our world—we can be friends with whoever we want. Sometimes we’re good friends, sometimes not so good, sometimes we’re not okay, and sometimes we’re okay again when it comes to relationships with different people,” said Markki.

“In my opinion, I don’t really like to talk about my relationships with people in general. Even with girlfriends or whoever—I don’t name names from my past relationships because it’s not my story to tell,” he added.

Cristy followed up with another question from a netizen, this time about his rumored connection with the Ultimate Heartthrob, Piolo Pascual. There were reports that they had been spotted jogging together regularly at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig, prompting intrigue about their relationship.

“Many people have been texting me saying they’ve seen you and Piolo Pascual jogging at BGC almost every morning. I already asked you about Marvin Agustin, so let’s also clarify the issue with PJ—it’s good to make that clear,” Cristy said.

Markki replied that he and Piolo are simply friends and that they are both managed by the same agency, Cornerstone.

“We’re friends now, I’m also friends with Marvin, and I’m friends with many other actors. But at the end of the day, let’s just say most of my friends these days are outside the industry.”

He further explained, “I don’t really make close friendships in the industry anymore—sometimes it’s toxic for me. Sure, I have showbiz friends, but it’s more of a hi-and-hello situation. Like I saw Moira [Dela Torre] at the Cornerstone Christmas party, I hugged her, I also hugged Catriona [Gray].”

“They’re my friends, but we’re not as close as before when my entire life revolved around the industry.”

Markki was also asked about his sexuality. He said he no longer cares what people say about him.

“People can think whatever they want. Honestly, I really don’t care anymore. Maybe that’s why I don’t win awards—because I’m such a straightforward person.”

“I say what’s on my mind, and I say how I feel. If people don’t want to accept or believe who I am, that’s their problem. At the end of the day, I live my life very happily—my favorite button on Facebook is the block button. That block button is my absolute favorite!”

Back in December, Markki openly identified as demisexual—a person who only experiences sexual attraction toward someone with whom they have an emotional connection.
