Eleven years later, TV host Paolo Bediones spoke again about his viral intimate videos that caused a big change in his life — personal and professional.

Paolo will never forget the date July 27, 2014 because this is the day his private and intimate videos went viral.

Paolo told Cabinet Files that he was replacing the battery of his laptop in 2010.

Unbeknownst to him, an unidentified computer technician opened and saw his sensitive videos.

For four years, Paolo received threats that the videos would be spread if he did not pay three million pesos.

He said: “They never found out who it was, also because at that time, it spread too quickly to pinpoint the origin.

“I remember receiving the letter while I was doing my radio program around 2010. I called the number and they were asking for PHP3M.

“They communicated via mailed letter for four years and kept sending it to my place of work.

“All the evidence was turned over to the authorities who tried to assist me.

“I guess when they realized they would get nothing from me, that’s when they released it,” said Paolo, referring to his video scandal. Paolo shared a copy of the letter with Cabinet Files.

It said: “I have your sex videos now. I’m easy to talk to!

“If you don’t want it to go public, call me. I’ll wait for your call!

“Don’t wait for me to get impatient.”

Below it is the cellphone number of the person he is supposed to call.

Paolo never found out who was behind the videos.

He said he tried everything he could to get the copies removed from the Internet but failed.

“I hired ‘experts’ who claimed they could do it and order the takedowns… then… you can guess what happened after they were paid,” Paolo painfully admitted.

But eleven years later, he says he has accepted the whole incident and is at peace.

Paolo will recount the ordeal he experienced through a video essay titled “How to Take Back Your Life When the World Around You Collapses.”

In an exclusive interview with Cabinet Files, Paolo said he hopes his video essay can help people who are currently going through what he went through.

He stated: “I am just hoping, through the video, I can help other people who are going through anything similar, so they know there is a way to handle it and come out not just surviving but one day thriving.”

Paolo is the son of Maria Teresa Barba, the daughter of Fortuna Marcos Barba, the youngest sister of former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos.
