Kim Chiu on ‘Sampal’ Scene with Maricel in ‘Linlang’
Kim on the Diamond Star: “Maricel Soriano is great to work with!”
The ABS-CBN teleserye Linlang stars Diamond Star Ms. Maricel Soriano, and Kim Chiu is always praising the veteran actress’s talent and ability to get along with her.

She boasts, “Mom is very generous, she gives us a lot, especially me because we have the same feet, so there are a lot of shoes that I will love that are from Mom.

“Then, she has a lot of food in her room, so we would just go there and just talk and tease, like that. But when it comes to scenes, that’s it.

“I get nervous, I get nervous when Mom and I have scenes together. Of course, Mom has done a lot of projects and scenes together, maybe her slap is hardcore.

“Actually, my dream of being slapped by her has come true. Bucket list, check!

“That’s what you should watch, that’s one of the scenes you should watch. But I’m so grateful that I got to work with Inay, while I was doing that scene I was nervous, but in that scene I was more nervous for the role of Juliana.

“It’s great, it’s great to work with Maricel Soriano! He has been in the industry for a long time but is very down to earth, very accommodating to help artists like us.”

KIM SHARES LOVE ADVICE
Kim Chiu believes that everyone has experienced how to be deceived especially when it comes to the field of love.

According to the Kapamilya actress, everyone who falls in love sometimes becomes blind and forgets what is right and wrong.

Kim was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during the recent media conference cum special screening of Linlang held at Cinema 76 on T. Morato Ave. last October 2.

“You know, when you fall in love, you don’t know if it’s right or wrong, when your heart is what you’re doing, it won’t tell you if it’s right or wrong.

“As long as you feel like you’re not being respected, it means you should use your mind. “You should know your self-worth. We’re all deceived. It’s impossible for one of you not to be deceived. Let’s just take that as a lesson in our lives.

That really happens in life. Everything that happened in our lives didn’t just happen. It happened with a purpose.

“As long as you learned your lesson or you learned something from that experience, you will be successful and you will be the winner when you are the bigger person.”

KIM SHARES HER TAKEAWAY FROM LINLANG ROLE
We asked Kim about her performance in her role as Juliana in the 14-episode series. Does she understand women who cheat or are unfaithful in a relationship better because of it?

“As for women, all they want in life is attention, love, time, and security.

“That’s all that’s important to feel from a partner, a wife. When she’s lacking, she might do things she doesn’t want, but she can find her happiness in other things. It’s just a matter of choice and decision.

“That’s what I said, when you fall in love, you don’t know if what you’re doing is right or wrong. We should learn something from everything we do.

“Understand better? I’m not saying it’s okay, but if you watch this entire series, you’ll understand why the woman did that thing.

“At the end of the day, there is and there is something you can learn, there is and there is a takeaway that a man should appreciate a woman.

KIM ON WORKING WITH JM AND PAOLO
Because she co-stars with JM de Guzman and Paulo Avelino in the series, we teased Kim about whether she thought she was fooled by the two’s behavior and that she got to know them better when they were on the show together.

“JM, he doesn’t really talk much, he just loves Mobile Legends.

“When I invite him to eat, sometimes he agrees, it’s like he’s getting something off of it, and then we talk about it.

“The director and I eat together with the staff because he can’t really be removed from Mobile Legends. When I was the one who

“They took away all the nervousness, the fear because I really clung to them. Especially in the first scene, [Director] FMR, I said, ‘Director, I want to grow but how? I’m nervous.’ Then, he said, ‘Just trust me.’

“With all the explanations he gave, it was like… Well, Direk and I, we just worked on a series.

“It was only the second day of our taping, we did that scene with Paulo. Of course, he’s a very quiet person, it was just the first day, ‘How can I talk about it? He doesn’t laugh at me.”

“Then, the second day I was still nervous, ‘Okay, he’s a gamer, and I’m not a gamer either.’ As for JM and I, we worked before on U Turn so this wasn’t our first time working together.

“We talked about it before, it was my first time working with Paulo and he was really great. Paulo is very kind and helpful to support me.”

“I’m also grateful because he makes things easier for me that make me nervous. Every time I step on our set, I’m really nervous because it’s not really my forte, it’s not really my comfort zone, I’m not confident if I can do it well. But because of our director, Direk FMR, Direk Jojo, my co-stars who are so great, they lifted me up, they help me and that’s what I’m most grateful for.”

Linlang is a 14-episode thriller/drama mini-series starring Kim Chiu, JM de Guzman, Paulo Avelino, Kaila Estrada, Ruby Ruiz and Ms. Maricel Soriano.
