Meet the woman who became the light in Ricky Davao’s life — his girlfriend, Mayeth Malka Daroka. How did their relationship begin?

Just as the award-winning actor Ricky Davao left behind his children, he also left behind his beloved girlfriend, Mayeth Malka Daroka. Although Malka was not part of the showbiz world, Ricky was open to the public about their relationship, which began in 2022.

In an interview, Ricky shared that he and Malka met through their mutual love of food — though he clarified that Malka is not a chef. According to Ricky, they instantly felt a connection when they first met, as if they had known each other for a long time. Despite challenges, they stayed together and continued choosing each other.

He described Malka as his silver lining — someone who showed him dedication, understanding, and unconditional love, especially during the lowest point in his life. Though Malka was younger than Ricky, he said the age gap wasn’t significant. Ricky’s children also accepted her, even affectionately calling her “Tita.”

Still, Ricky chose to keep their relationship private to avoid intrigue and maintain peace in their personal lives.

After Ricky Davao passed away at the age of 63 on May 1, 2025, his longtime partner Mayeth Malka Daroka shared an emotional tribute on social media to honor their love and Ricky’s battle with cancer.

In her message, Mayeth recalled Ricky’s strength in the face of illness and their love, which became their anchor during trying times. She shared moments when Ricky repeatedly asked her if she was tired — and her answer was always that she would never grow tired of caring for him.

Mayeth also expressed that through Ricky, she learned the true meaning of unconditional love. In the end, she confessed how deeply she misses him — but promised to carry Ricky in her heart and memories forever.

Mayeth’s message reflects a love that was strong and genuine, unshaken even by death.

Meanwhile, Ricky Davao and Jackie Lou Blanco separated in 2011 after more than two decades of marriage, having wed in 1989. Despite their separation, they remained friends and co-parented their three children — Kenneth, Ricky May, and Ara Davao.

In a 2023 interview, Jackie Lou admitted she regretted their separation, especially after seeing its effect on their children. However, Ricky said that their breakup was something they both had to accept and move on from.

Even after separating, they still worked together on some projects, including the 2021 drama anthology I Can See You: Alternate, where they played a married couple.
