According to reports on Tuesday, May 27, the news was reportedly from the general counsel of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Atty. George Briones.
Aguilar was a former national executive vice president of the PFP.
The OPM icon passed away early Tuesday, May 27, at 1:30 a.m. at the Philippine Heart Center.
Aguilar was known for several of his songs such as “Anak,” “Bayan Ko,” “Magdalena,” and “Problema.”
In 2019, former President Rodrigo Duterte appointed him as Presidential Adviser on Culture and the Arts and became a member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Currently, as of the writing of this article, the family and loved ones of the OPM icon have not yet released a statement or reaction.
