Anjo Ylanna has clarified her relationship with Sheryl Cruz after she revealed her relationship with the former Eat Bulaga host in an interview with Boy Abunda on May 23, 2024.

It can be recalled that Sheryl Cruz revealed in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that she was engaged to Anjo Yllana at the time, but their marriage did not work out because Anjo got another woman pregnant.

However, Anjo Yllana insisted that his relationship with another woman was not the reason why she ended her relationship with Sheryl Cruz at the time.

According to Anjo Yllana, she and Sheryl Cruz had already broken up when he had a girlfriend at the time.

“We were no longer together when I cooled off with her, but I don’t know if she went to America. All I know is that when I had a new girlfriend, Sheryl and I were no longer together,” Anjo Yllana admitted.

“I don’t know if he went to the States because he was upset because I already had a girlfriend. My problem back then was that I got my girlfriend pregnant, but Sheryl and I broke up,” he added.

In the same interview, Anjo Yllana also admitted that he couldn’t marry Sheryl Cruz because of his responsibilities at the time.

“I was still taking care of my siblings because I was the eldest. They were still studying. My father was disabled,” Anjo Yllana said.

“I said, ‘Am I ready?’ Then I’ll start, what about my family? Marriage, that’s right. Of course, when you’re in love, it’s nice to talk about it. I love her, she loves me, but am I ready? I just suddenly thought,” she clarified.

So far, Shery Cruz has not released any statement regarding Anjo Yllana’s revelation.

In the latest episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Thursday, May 23, Sheryl said that she has already accepted Anjo’s offer but she has discovered something.

“Actually, I was upset with him because… he asked for my hand in marriage that time before I left for the States and decided to actually try it there that’s what I met Norman [Bustos],” Sheryl said.

“He asked for my hand in marriage, and I said yes. And then I found out that he got somebody pregnant, so no matter what, he broke my heart,” she said.

However, Sheryl added: “But you know, that’s already water under the bridge. We’re good friends.”

In fact, when she was separated from Norman and returned to the Philippines, she and Anjo even tried to get back together.
