Kris is angry with Phillip, bursts out: I made a mistake of loving you
This is a follow-up to what we wrote yesterday that netizens were angry with senatorial candidate Bong Go when he made a joke about the relationship between Kris Aquino and Phillip Salvador. According to Kris, she was still in Japan when she saw the video and reached out to Go. Kris posted the video on Instagram on Tuesday night, and it immediately reached 4,845 comments, all of which were angry with Bong.

All the senatorial candidates must have seen or read the negative comments about her, so she apologized to Kris, while she was campaigning in San Andres, Manila on Wednesday.

Ma’am Kris Aquino, I’m sorry. If anyone was offended, we were just making fun of her. We will not use that joke again. Ipe and I, I know you are fed up with politics. We just want to make you happy,” said Bong.

If we examine Go’s statement that “we will not use that joke anymore,” there is a hint that the joke was scripted. It’s crazy, is it a joke to make so many people think that Philip “fooled” Kris? Didn’t the senatorial candidate think that women should be respected, doesn’t Bong Go have a daughter and a sister? Isn’t his mother and wife a woman? Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte—leader of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago party that endorses Bong’s candidacy—said that the latter will no longer joke in his next campaign.

Kris also went on Facebook and IG Live on Wednesday night. According to the social media influencer, her past was used in the campaign and the video was uploaded and watched in full during her birthday in Japan, with her sons Joshua and Bimby and KCAP staff.

Based on the video shown on Kris’s live feed, Go introduced Ipe and said that he is the adopted father of Davao City because the former actor left four children there. And Kris Aquino was also among those “fooled,” according to Bong.

But the actor denied this. Phillip said: “It’s her birthday today,” referring to Kris. “It’s her birthday today and then I never fooled her. I loved her!”

Obviously, their joke was scripted and Bong used Ipe for his campaign, and Kris was implicated.

Kris admitted on the live feed that on Tuesday night, around 11:34 pm, the former Special Assistant to the President called her to apologize and their conversation lasted 23 minutes.

“We are friends, I don’t need to tell you in detail what we talked about because the truth is, I don’t remember a lot of it because I cried so much during that phone call.

“I admire him because he was man enough to call me. Everyone knows, right, in our country right now he’s considered probably the second most powerful man, he doesn’t have to do that.

“I know there are people who will criticize me for saying why am I acknowledging the apology. But you also have to understand, I understand that he didn’t have to do that and if only for that I’m not saying it erases the scene. I’m not saying that I forgot about the pain. But what I’m saying is that I was impressed because he was acting like a man and calling.

“I learned about this ongoing skit while I was in Japan and Viber messages to prove to you that on February 17 I sent a message to him (Bong). I actually offered this and I can quote it, I can give you a surprise appearance after the line ‘Kris Aquino was fooled’ I said, I’m ready to go up on stage and say I’m sure Bong Go, we’re not fooling each other.

“You will ask me why I did that because I know that while you’re being laughed at, you have to be in to the joke, it’s better that you’re there and you know that you’re in to the joke, part of the joke rather than being the joke.

“But you also know what I’ve been going through, I don’t need to detail that it’s been painful and honestly, I was proud of myself I did not cry on Friday,” Kris said.

Friday when Kris and her camp read on the online website that the 44 counts of qualified theft she filed against Nicko Falcis in Makati City were dismissed.

“I did not even cry on Tuesday (on the news that the case was dismissed in the Pasig City court) because I had sons who had to see that their mother would not give up. And the hoping mechanism was decluttering.

“I read that everything in your life seems to be out of control, you clean what you can clean, that’s all. It was put there to declutter your gadgets so I watched the video again and it really hurts.

“The hurt there comes from being made a joke of and I am not blaming Bong Go. This is on you, Phillip Salvador,” Kris said directly while looking at the camera.

“You are Josh’s father. My mistake is that I let you go off easily, I even praised you because I compared you to Bimb’s father. Because what I said, ‘you are good, you didn’t mess us up.’ What I didn’t mention to people is that for 16 years you didn’t even give Josh a single peso but obviously people will say, ‘you don’t need it, Kris, you are rich.’ And that’s true! I have money, I have a mother, I have siblings, I earn money.

“But I hope you thought about that line, ‘you fooled Kris Aquino’. What does make of your son, he is the product of a fraud? It was very hurtful because my mom told me, eh, ‘Don’t you realize with Phillip Salvador that you’re only a trophy?’”

Kris looked back at how she and Phillip got into a relationship, and how it ended up with them living under the same roof.

“I’ll take you all first. I was 23 years old when the relationship started. How many times did I hear, ‘Ipe was united, she was the first with Kris’. Yes, that’s true! I was a virgin and I got pregnant and I left my family, I chose him and I turned the blind eye, I turned the blind eye to gambling, I turned a blind eye to the nights that I can’t explain why I wouldn’t come home (just like that) when I knew the shooting was over. “I kept quiet for so long because I thought you were a good man. I equated goodness with not messing with us, but I’m wrong. You’re wrong to forget Josh, that’s not a big deal because I’ve done a good job in raising him! But you’re wrong to make a joke about my son.

“I do not deserve that! Actually, I deserved that, I made a mistake of falling for you! I made a mistake of loving you, you did not love me! Because if you had loved me, 23 years later I would not be a joke in a skit, on every stage you climb! But I hope, the child who loved you, the child who was 7 years old when I couldn’t see you but I could see you on his cell phone and on his iPad searching for you, watching you. I hope you thought of him because he is your blood, eh.

“Who cares about Kris Aquino, that’s true! You don’t have to care about me, but you should care about Joshua because the child never hurt you up to this day, the child says, he loves you,” said Kris.

Kris apologized to those who watched her live feed because she wrote down what she wanted to say.

“I just want to end this by saying, this is nothing political. To Bong Go, you actually did more than what Phillip Salvador did, you were man enough to give me a call, you called. My son’s father, he didn’t even try to find me. It was easy, eh. Your friend who is also my friend, SAP Bong, he knows where we live, eh.

“It wouldn’t have been difficult for Phillip Salvador to have gone and just hugged Josh. I can do anything, eh, and I can do anything. But for this instance I need to speak up.

“That child will always be a child. If he sees you, he won’t scold you, he’ll hug you. He actually asked me, because he knew what it meant to be fooled, he asked me, ‘Mom, did you fool me? Are we angry? Are we angry with Dada?’ (Josh called his father). And I said, ‘Josh, let’s just pray that this will be fixed,’” Kris explained.

In the end, Kris said that she hopes that all women who have been abandoned by their partners can get back on their feet and get good jobs so that their children are not neglected.

“Bong, you hurt me, but that’s part of life. In time I told you I will stop grieving but I hope you understand because it still hurts because you made a joke of my life. What hurts the most is that you made a joke of my child’s life.

“I hope you all learned from this because I’ve learned. I chose the wrong man to love and my son is now paying for that and the only thing I can say is life moves forward and the only thing I can do is try my best to be the best possible mother for this child because he did not deserve to be made a joke of.”
