Director Shares Story About Nora Aunor’s Last Moment: “She whispered the truth to me while we were talking in the hospital.”**
Amidst the showbiz industry’s deep mourning over the passing of the so-called *Superstar* Nora Aunor, a close friend and veteran director has come forward and shared their last conversation—a conversation filled with emotion, truth, and quiet acceptance of fate.
According to the director, who did not want to be named while the obituary was still pending, he visited Nora in the hospital a few days before she passed away. He said, “She was quiet at first, but I could feel that she had a lot to say. I held her hand and that’s when she spoke.”
Amidst the weakness of her voice, Nora whispered some words that the director will never forget. “She told me, ‘Director, I know my situation. I’m ready. All I can think about is, I hope I’m remembered not just as an artist, but as someone who loved the country.’”
According to the director, Nora Aunor has been battling her illness for a long time but chose not to let the public know. “She didn’t want to be pitied. She wanted to be remembered for her works, for the characters she gave life to, and for the people she helped silently,” the director added.
The director added that Nora urged young people to continue the art of honest and meaningful acting. “She said, ‘Fame is worthless if you’re worthless as a person. Art should be something that touches people’s hearts and changes lives.’”
As tributes continue to pour in on social media and media networks, it becomes increasingly clear how deep a mark Nora Aunor left not only in film but in the hearts of Filipinos. At the last moment, he still chose to be a model of courage, love of art, and humility.
If you want, we can make a *continuation* of the article, such as messages from his family, details of the tribute, or a recollection of his most important films. Would you like that?
Nora Aunor to be taken to Libingan Ng Mga Bayani on April 22
TODAY, Maundy Thursday, April 17, the funeral rites for the late Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor will begin.
The funeral will be held tonight at Chapel 9 of The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. The viewing is for the family followed by a mass.
Tomorrow, April 18, the funeral will be open to Ate Guy’s family and friends who are expected to flock to pay their respects to the bereaved family of the movie and TV icon.
On April 19 and 20, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a public viewing is scheduled while on April 21, Monday, only family and friends can visit and pay their respects.
On April 22, Tuesday, the interment of Ate Guy’s remains is set for her transfer to Libingan Ng Mga Bayani.
Nora Aunor’s family has not yet given any details for her state funeral. Meanwhile, Ate Guy’s children, Ian de Leon and Lotlot de Leon, have not yet made public the cause of their mother’s death.
But according to some people we spoke to who are close to Ate Guy, last Tuesday the Superstar underwent angioplasty. The award-winning actress was having difficulty breathing.
It can be recalled that in an interview with Ate Guy on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” she said that she died within three minutes after being taken to the intensive care unit.
This was due to the decrease in oxygen in her body, “I don’t know if I can say because I died for three minutes. This was just the past, I’m just saying this now.
“Because of what happened then, didn’t I get sick? I’ll go out at night, I’ll be taken to the hospital again in the morning,” Nora said.
“So there was an incident where I said, ‘Come here because the oxygen in my body is dropping.’ So I went to the hospital, I said, ‘I just need oxygen.’
“What happened, I don’t know, no one helped, they didn’t rush to give me oxygen, what happened was I lay down, I don’t know what happened. When I woke up, I was in the ICU,” she said.
There was another incident where she miraculously survived a car accident while filming one of her movies.
“They said they prayed. Because they said I was dead. What happened was that the windshield was removed from the car but it was intact, not broken,” he added. “The steering wheel, instead of hitting me in the chest, went away from me. So there was nothing, I didn’t feel any pain. All I felt was my head hitting the window,” Ate Guy recalled.
