The child’s mother, who is currently hospitalized due to the accident, has yet to be told what happened to her daughter — according to the father, “I don’t know how to tell her… maybe she won’t be able to bear it.”

On the day of the incident, the entire family accompanied the father, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), to the airport. In an instant, the girl’s farewell to her father—which was supposed to be just a simple hug—became the last time they saw each other.

“We were hugging, then suddenly… he was gone. My child was gone,” the father wept in an interview.
