A male Korean YouTuber living in the Philippines is under fire in South Korea after posting videos of himself buying and drinking breastmilk from Filipino mothers.

This was exposed in the evening newscast of JTBC News, a South Korean television network, on May 9, 2025.

The identity of the Korean YouTuber and the name of his YouTube channel were not disclosed.

However, according to the newscast, he has over 4.5 million followers on social media.

He has been vlogging for eight years and has uploaded more than 4,000 videos30 of which involve his transactions with Filipina mothers willing to sell their breastmilk.

Why the Korean YouTuber Buys Breastmilk

In the screenshots shown, the vlogger’s face was blurred as he spoke with breastfeeding Filipino moms.

He reportedly offers PHP 500 to each mother who agrees to sell him her breastmilk.

Sometimes, he even hands the money directly to the nursing child.

Afterward, he drinks the breastmilk on the spot, claiming it is “fresh and healthy.”

In other videos, according to the newscast, he mixes the breastmilk with alcohol for mukbang content.

What’s concerning, however, is that the faces of the mothers and children are clearly visible in the videos.

According to the report, this appears to be sexual exploitation and a form of profiting from the poverty of Filipino moms selling breastmilk.

YouTuber Defends His Actions

JTBC News interviewed the Korean YouTuber.

He defended his actions and even compared himself to Santa Claus.

He claimed his videos were helping the local community:

“I just wanted to support the mothers and their children by paying for the milk since they have no work there.
I am like Santa Claus or a kind uncle who helps those in need.”

He proudly added:

“I am very popular in the Philippines.”

He also denied any sexual intent behind buying and drinking breastmilk.

According to him, it was purely for personal health reasons, and had nothing to do with cultural differences.

South Koreans Condemn the Vlogger

Kim Eun-bae, former head of the International Criminal Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, rejected the YouTuber’s justification.

“Handing money to the child instead of the mother undermines the dignity of both the mothers and their children.
This behavior risks encouraging further exploitation and damages South Korea’s image globally.”

Fellow South Koreans also criticized the vlogger.

One netizen said:

“This is a complete joke. Stop mocking and making fun of poor people.”

Another commented:

“Sanctions against this type of content are needed so as not to damage the image of Koreans.”

A panelist on JTBC News also remarked:

“Well, if you really want to help, just give money. What the heck is this?”

Health Risks of Drinking Unregulated Breastmilk

Meanwhile, there are reports that some people in China buy unregulated breastmilk for personal consumption.

There is a traditional belief in China that breastmilk is a nutritious tonic, especially for people who are ill, and can help speed up their recovery.

However, despite its health benefits for infants, the illegal sale and consumption of breastmilk poses serious health risks.

There is a high chance of transmitting infectious diseases such as HIV and hepatitis B to those who consume it.
