My father-in-law asked to borrow ₱248,000 PHP to treat his lover’s illness, I had to sell my wedding gold to have enough, I just transferred the money and was stunned by a text message from my father’s young lover

My father-in-law asked me to borrow ₱248,000 PHP to treat his “sworn sister” – he said urgently:

“Dad has no one to rely on. If you love him, please lend him some money. He is in the hospital and needs it badly.”

I didn’t ask any more questions.
I sold all the gold my parents gave me for the wedding, and even emptied my savings account —  just hoping to fulfill my duties as a daughter-in-law.
My husband was working far away at the time, so I didn’t say anything to reassure him.

After transferring 100 million, I texted my father-in-law.
He just said “Seen” – no reply.
I thought he was probably in the hospital, busy taking care of an “old acquaintance”.

But 30 minutes later…
I stared blankly at the screen, tears streaming down my face at the message from a woman named “Diem Cu”, with a bright red heart icon:

“I love it, I received it 😘 Use this money to deposit for the beach villa like we planned! When are you going to tell your wife and kids?”

I choked up.
The message was not sent by mistake — because clearly… the account number was mine.
It was just that…  the silver-haired man, who claimed to be “out of love”, had just taken every drop of my blood and my wife’s — to deposit a life of debauchery.

I didn’t know what to do.
I called him but he didn’t pick up.
I texted my husband and he just said:

“Dad must have his reasons. Don’t think too much. Let me go home and then I’ll think about it.”

But I know. There are some personality traits that will not “wait for you to come back”. They need to be cut off immediately, or they will corrode trust.
