Ai-Ai delas Alas has bravely admitted that she has no regrets about her decision to withdraw the green card petition for her ex-husband, Gerald Sibayan, after their separation in late 2024.

In her interview with Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the Comedy Queen said bluntly:

🗨️ “Of course, at first, you have to think about something, but at the end of the day, I don’t feel embarrassed. I did it because I had to live for myself.”

The former couple got married in December 2017 in a grand ceremony attended by many celebrities and politicians.

According to reports, Ai-Ai, who has been a U.S. green card holder since 2015, submitted a petition on behalf of Gerald as her husband. But after years of marriage that led to emotional estrangement and rivalry, she decided to withdraw the petition.

While it’s legal under U.S. immigration law, many have wondered if it’s personal anger or the right move for his welfare.

In the same interview, Ai-Ai clarified:

🗨️ “I had no intention of hurting him, but if the relationship wasn’t healthy for me anymore—why would I extend our relationship?”

Many netizens showed their support for Ai-Ai, acknowledging her courage in telling the truth and standing up for her decision. But there are also some who question the timing and motives, especially since there seems to be a possibility that Gerald is in danger of losing his legal status in the United States.
