Dabarkads Reunite in Joyful Celebration at Tito Sotto’s Victory Party

Tito Sotto: TAPE has no right to celebrate 44 years of Eat Bulaga - POLITIKO

May 24, 2025 – Manila, Philippines — A night filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt reflection unfolded as the Eat Bulaga! family, affectionately known as the Dabarkads, came together to celebrate a monumental moment in Philippine entertainment history. Former Senate President and Eat Bulaga! host Tito Sotto hosted a grand “Victory Party” on Saturday night, marking both a personal and collective triumph for the long-running noontime show and its beloved hosts.

Victory Worth Celebrating

The victory party was held in celebration of a recent favorable court ruling affirming Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon (collectively known as TVJ), and the Dabarkads’ legal ownership of the Eat Bulaga! brand. The decision put an end to a months-long legal and corporate battle over the rights to the legendary show following the trio’s departure from their former network in 2023 and subsequent transfer to TV5.

What made the evening special was not just the legal win, but the unity, resilience, and loyalty that have defined the Dabarkads through more than four decades of entertainment.

“Tonight isn’t just about winning in court,” Tito Sotto said during his emotional toast. “It’s about winning back our voice, our legacy, and most of all, our family.”

A Star-Studded Reunion

The event was attended by all the key members of the Eat Bulaga! family — Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and many more familiar faces. Long-time staff and crew members were also present, adding to the nostalgic and emotional atmosphere.

Dabarkads shared stories from the past, recalled their early days in the industry, and celebrated how far the show — and their relationships — have come.

“Being part of Eat Bulaga! has always felt like being part of a family,” said Maine Mendoza. “We’ve been through so much together, and this moment feels like a reward for never giving up.”

Music, Memories, and Messages of Gratitude

The celebration was anything but ordinary. Musical performances from original cast members, throwback video montages, and a surprise number from the show’s iconic “Bulagaan” segment were just some of the highlights. Even absent members who could not attend sent their messages of love and support via video call.

Vic Sotto lightened the mood with his signature humor, joking, “We’re not getting older — we’re getting vintage. And Eat Bulaga!? It’s still top shelf!”

The speeches, though filled with joy, also carried messages of gratitude. Many of the Dabarkads extended their thanks to fans who stood by them during the network transition and the ongoing legal dispute.

“Our fans never left us,” said Joey de Leon. “We are here today because of your faith and loyalty.”

Looking Toward a Brighter Future

While the party looked back at the show’s rich past, it also cast an eye on the future. Eat Bulaga! is entering a new era on TV5 with new segments, fresh production, and renewed energy — all while preserving the values and humor that made it iconic.

Executives from TV5 were also present, expressing their commitment to giving the show full creative freedom and support. With the legal ownership resolved and their brand intact, the Dabarkads now have free rein to grow Eat Bulaga! into its next golden chapter.

“Now we can truly say — this is our show,” Tito Sotto said. “And we’re just getting started.”

A Night to Remember

The Victory Party on May 24 was more than a celebration; it was a testament to endurance, unity, and the unbreakable bond between the Dabarkads and their fans. In a time where television trends come and go, Eat Bulaga! remains a cornerstone of Filipino culture — thanks to its ability to evolve without losing heart.

As the final song of the night played and laughter echoed throughout the hall, one thing was clear: The Dabarkads are back — stronger, prouder, and more united than ever.
