Karina Bautista On Portraying β€œJanice,” Suspect Of Maguad Siblings Case

Here’s what Karina Bautista said about giving life to Janice Sebial.

ABS-CBN actress Karina Bautista will be Janice Sebial in the new MMK episode, and here’s what she admitted while doing the limited series.

On December 10, 2021, the country was both shocked and heartbroken hearing the news about the Maguad siblings being killed in the worst ways inside their home. The horrifying sight of the siblings bathing in their own blood was first discovered by their father.

To say that it was painful for the parents was an understatement. They were their only children, and the one who β€œsurvived” the incident was their adopted Janice. However, as the investigation went on, the truth painfully unfolded before the parents. The one they accepted into their home and loved like their own family was the suspect of the killing. The family’s adopted daughter,Β Janice, was found guilty

The fingerprints of Janice Sebial were found on the things that were used to kill the Maguad siblings. Her confessions solidified the case, which led to her imprisonment.

In the upcoming episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, the life story of the Maguad family will be featured.Β Dimples Romana is the mother, Joem Bascon is the father, Miguel Vergara is Crizzule Louis, Criza Taa is Crizzle Gwen, and Karina Bautista is Janice.

Speaking about portraying the suspect’s role, Bautista spoke, and according to her, the role was challenging and carried a heavy emotion. And it was the challenge that came with it that made her accept it. This is also the first dark role she will be playing, and she did not deny that it had an emotional toll on her.

β€œSuper hirap siya to the point na even before kami nag-take, parang medyo in-anxiety na ako. Siyempre sa ABS-CBN, with Star Magic and Rise Artists, we always want to embody talaga the character, be the character so medyo mahirap siya kasi kahit makalimutan ng utak ko yung mga linya, yung mga naganap, my heart still feels it and sobrang bigat niya sa body,” she shared.

The role wasn’t just challenging, and she is doing better now. The episode is directed by Onat Diaz.
