RICKY DAVAO – The veteran actor passed away at the age of 63, and according to his daughter, he faced complications related to cancer.

Viva Entertainment confirmed the passing of Ricky Davao on social media. Viva wrote, “Pahinga kana, Sir Ricky,” and added, “Ang aktor ay namayapa sa edad na 63.”

Last year, there were reports about him suffering from a terminal illness. And on May 1, Ricky died, which broke the hearts of many, adding to the pain over the deaths of icons Asia’s Queen of Songs, Pilita Corrales, and “Superstar” Nora Aunor.

Recently, in a post, his daughter, Ara Davao, confirmed his death. According to her, the actor passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children and loved ones. He died after “bravely facing complications related to cancer.”

He spent decades of his life dedicated to the craft he loved, creating a “remarkable body of work and award-winning performances.” His legacy will inspire others, but above all the roles he portrayed, he was best at and most loved for being a loving father, brother, son, and friend.

Ara also added, “We are deeply grateful for your prayers, love, and kind messages during this difficult time. Details about his memorial service will be shared soon.”

As an actor, Ricky played several roles in films, including “Magnifico,” “Working Girls,” “The Flor Contemplacion Story,” “Ishmael,” “Big Night!” and TV shows such as “Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK),” “Mula Sa Puso,” “Pangako Sa’yo,” “My Korean Jagiya,” “The World Between Us” and “Magpakailanman.”

He also won Best Actor trophies for the 1998 movie “Saranggola” from award-giving bodies, such as Gawad Urian, Cinemanila International Film Festival, and Star Awards for Movies.

His most recent project was the romantic comedy “Sosyal Climbers,” and he was actually announced as part of the cast for the upcoming GMA fantasy series “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.”
