Rahsel Tayco, Silay Beauty Queen Passes Away in Tragic Road Accident

RAHSEL TAYCO – The Silay beauty queen from Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental lost her life in a tragic road accident.

On Wednesday morning (May 14, 2025), a young woman has lost her life in a tragic accident along the circumferential road in Bacolod City. The victim was identified as Rahsel Tayco, a beauty queen who was set to represent her barangay in the upcoming Lin-ay sang Silay 2025 pageant.

According to her aunt, Rahsel was on her way to school when the accident happened. She was riding a motorcycle when she accidentally crashed into a parked truck near a fast-food restaurant.

Though she was wearing a helmet, the impact of the crash was strong enough to cause serious injuries, which led to her untimely death.

Tayco’s passing has left her family, friends, and school community heartbroken. She was a student of Bacolod City College under the College of Education, taking up a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English.

Those who knew her described Rahsel as warm, respectful, and full of promise. She had already prepared for the upcoming pageant her gown, festival costume, and swimsuit were ready, and she had been practicing her walk for the coronation night.

Her school and community have expressed their grief and shared messages of love and prayers for her and her family.

“Rahsel was more than just a student. She was a kind soul, a gentle presence, and a source of joy to her classmates and teachers. Always respectful, warm, and eager to learn, she left a quiet but lasting mark on our community.

To her family, we offer our deepest sympathies. We grieve with you, and we pray that you find strength and peace during this moment of deep sadness,” BCC wrote.
