Netizens React to Reports on Atasha Muhlach’s Removal from “Eat Bulaga”; Co-host Ryzza Mae Dizon Reveals Her Behind-the-Scenes Behavior

Netizens were quick to react to various reports concerning the real reason behind Atasha Muhlach’s departure from the noontime show Eat Bulaga. Recently, it became the talk of social media again when fellow “The Barcads” member Ryzza Mae Dizon publicly shared certain behaviors Atasha allegedly exhibited during their time together on the show.

It can be recalled that Atasha, the only daughter of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, left Eat Bulaga during the first week of April following the expiration of her contract with TVJ on March 13, which had been extended for just one more month. Coincidentally, around that time, her talent agency Biba Talent made a public announcement regarding one of their major projects for 2024: the Philippine adaptation of the Thai blockbuster The Bad Genius: The Series, with Atasha as one of the lead stars.

The cast reveal was made during a media conference at Biba Café on March 18, where Atasha was introduced alongside fellow Biba talents Jos Aquino, Gab Lagman, and Hayan Calado. The series is produced under Studio BIBA and is directed by award-winning filmmaker Direk Cabredo, who officially introduced the full cast.

It was also during this event that netizens began to understand why Atasha was no longer seen on Eat Bulaga. According to Direk Cabredo, Atasha had a scheduling conflict due to her commitment to the series, making it clear that her departure from the show was temporary and work-related.

However, in a surprising revelation, Atasha’s co-host Ryzza Mae Dizon admitted that despite Atasha’s charm and grace on-screen, there were some less flattering aspects to her behavior behind the scenes. Ryzza jokingly mentioned that Atasha was quite a big eater and that the two of them would often be advised by Joey de Leon to eat more moderately and avoid acting like kids during meals.

According to Ryzza (a.k.a. “Aling Maliit”), she and Atasha were often teased by Tito Joey for eating with their hands—a habit that, while frowned upon by some, didn’t bother Ryzza. In fact, she admired Atasha for not being pretentious or overly concerned about appearances, unlike other showbiz personalities who are overly conscious and refuse to be exposed to the sun.

Ryzza added that she and the rest of The Barcads are excited for Atasha’s eventual return to Eat Bulaga. Although she didn’t confirm exactly when Atasha would come back, she stated that she wasn’t authorized to speak about such matters. Nevertheless, she expressed happiness for Atasha, whose dreams are slowly coming true as one of the most admired rising stars in the Philippine entertainment industry.
