Married for Three Years, But Husband Sleeps Every Night in Mother’s Bedroom—One Night, the Woman Secretly Follows and Discovers a Surprising Truth
When Hương was newly married, he thought she was the luckiest woman in the world. Her husband, Tuấn, was a kind man—hard-working, quiet, and wordless. But just a few weeks later, Hương noticed something different. Every night, when he thought Hương was asleep, Tuấn would secretly get up and go to his mother’s room next to them.
At first, Hương thought that Tuấn might just be worried about his elderly and frail mother. But every night, even on cold, rainy nights, it was still the same—it still went to the mother’s room, while she slept alone. When asked about it, Tuấn simply replied:
“Mom is afraid to sleep alone at night.”
Three years passed, and Hương had come to terms with that strange situation, though it was heavy on his chest. He felt like he was just a guest in his own home. She often heard her mother-in-law say, “A man who loves his mother, a blessing to his daughter-in-law.” Zhang Chen smiled in pain. To others, Tuấn was a good son, but to him, there was something wrong with a three-year-old son who had slept every night by his mother’s side.
One night, he couldn’t sleep until 2:00 a.m. He saw that Tuấn had risen again, so he secretly followed him. He turned off the light, gently opened the door, and walked quietly down the hallway. He heard the door to the mother-in-law’s room slam shut. Hương’s chest heaved as he pressed his ear to the door.
From inside, Tuấn’s mother’s soft voice could be heard:
“Son, please get some medicine. I don’t feel good.”
Snoop Dogg replied calmly, “Yes, I do. Lay down.”
Hương closed her eyes as she held back the tears. He peeked slowly through the doorway, and saw Tuấn wearing gloves as he smeared his mother’s back with medicine. There were red rashes on her skin, causing her itching and difficulty sleeping.
Hương was discouraged. He didn’t know that his mother-in-law was sick, because she always wore long-sleeved clothes. She had been suffering from skin problems since before she got married. Every night, the child takes care of it himself—no complaints, no appearances for others.
“I’m sorry, Mom, if you don’t get well soon,” Tuấn said as he anointed the mother.
“Son, you are married. “Don’t leave your wife,” the mother replied softly.
“I know, Mom. “I understand you,” he replied with a smile.
That’s when Hương gave in. He knelt outside the door and wept silently. For three years he doubted, complained in his mind, and thought badly—but now, he knew the truth.
The next day, while Tuấn was away, he bought medicine, wipes, and new towels. When he got home, he called his mother-in-law.
“Mom, I’m going to do it. From now on, I’ll take care of you at night, so that Tuấn can sleep well,” Hương said, his voice almost shaking.
The old man burst into tears. He took his daughter-in-law’s hand and said softly but solemnly:
“Thank you very much, son.”
Last night, for the first time in three years, Tuấn slept next to Hương. He held his wife’s hand tightly, and his eyes were full of gratitude. Hương whispered softly:
“I’m sorry, I didn’t understand right away.”
Tuấn just smiled and hugged him tightly. That night, their home seemed warmer and more peaceful.
Hương realized that true marital happiness lies not only in the love of the wife, but in understanding and sharing in the burdens she quietly bears.
From then on, every night she was the one who prepared warm water, wiped and anointed her mother-in-law with medicine. The old man was slowly getting better, and he was smiling a lot. On the other hand, Stuart became a more loving wife.
Doubts vanished, replaced by trust, respect, and true love. In her heart, a question played over and over again: “If I hadn’t followed her that night, would I have known what a good man the man I married was?”
