MANILA – A heavy atmosphere is hanging over the family and loved ones of Mercy Sunot , as the news that her body will be brought back to the Philippines in the coming days has been officially announced. Behind it is a story full of pain, love, and heartbreaking separation that no one could have predicted.
From the moment Mercy left her homeland, her family has been struggling, both with the pain of losing a loved one and with the complicated procedures to bring her back to her homeland. Now, after many days of waiting in despair and hope, Mercy Sunot’s final journey is about to begin.
“We just want her home. We want to see her one last time…” – a family member burst into tears and shared.
